Read a copy of the DRAFT Chicken Ordinance
The Merrimac Plan Commission has recommended to the Village Board that the housing of up to (6) female chickens in residential districts be permitted. The conditions to do so are identified in the Draft Ordinance and include provisions to protect the interests of neighbors. An annual license to house chickens is part of the proposal. A vote on the ordinance may take place at the next Board Meeting on August 10, 2022.
